The Docks, The Beatles & True English Culture | Liverpool 2019 | Travel Diary

If you’ve never been to Liverpool I’d highly recommend it.

Why? It’s got a lot about it - here’s 5 things that stood out to me:

The Royal Albert Dock

Amongst a very busy city, Liverpool has the Royal Albert Dock. It’s filled with vibrant colours, beautiful architecture and tonnes of little shops, museums & cafes.

On this particular trip we went to the Beatles Story museum, stopped for real dairy Mr Whippy and had a beer in the sun at The Pumphouse. You can’t get much more English than that!

Shopping

As you can imagine, like most big cities, Liverpool has most shops that you would want. There is the Liverpool 1 main shopping centre, however we found so many gems down Bond Street. If you like vintage clothes or cute & unique shops you’ll love Bold Street. My brother even scouted out a skate shop where he got a new board.

History

Liverpool is known for so many things. The legendary football club for one. But if you know me, you may be surprised that Asa & I didn’t visit Anfield this time! As I mentioned we went to The Beatles Story instead which I would highly recommend whether you’re a Beatles fan or not!

Pubs, Clubs & Beer Gardens

I’m not a clubbing fan, but I do love a good English pub or a cosy beer garden. Our favourite place was called Kazimier Gardens, which was right near where we stayed and almost hidden away! The man behind the bar was really friendly, chatted away to us about where is best to visit in Liverpool and even put on some Lauryn Hill for me - win! A beautiful place for a pint or a half. They also do Italian street food there if that floats your boat!

Photography opportunities!!

Obviously being a city with a lot of vibrancy I had plenty of photo opportunities. Check them out below and comment your thoughts if you get a second :)
