Capturing the Beauty of Autumn: Photography Mini Sessions in 2023

2023 was a game changer for me. The birth of my first child, and my first pregnancy really knocked the wind out of me and changed my world! So I wasn't sure how much photography I would actually be able to do. However, my boy was so chilled and my recovery was going so well that I felt I could do some photography when he was just 4 months old. My husband came with me to help and I fed my boy in between shoots, giving myself a lunch break and it worked flawlessly...thank goodness. Not that I've managed much more since, however I took the chance when I could and it was worth it!

We had such a beautiful day for it, cool air, cold enough to need a coat, but with rays of sunshine on and off throughout. The autumn is such a beautiful backdrop.

Four families entrusted me with their photos, 20 minutes per family, and this is what we achieved. Safe to say I struggled to walk afterwards, but it was completely worth the backache!

The Haward Family

This gorgeous little girl knew exactly what she wanted, and loved sitting on the chair I'd brought along. Her curls were complemented by the sun so well. She was at her most happy when she had a snack, a girl after my own heart!

Andi, Rory & Cora

At least our fourth shoot together, and what a beautiful thing to capture. A mum with her brood, one running around and helping me throw leaves, and the other just beginning her walking life. So much joy, and the red wellies looked wonderfully bold against the leaves.

Tom, Laura, Marnie & Bonnie

This family brought so many smiles along with them. After a shy start, the girls were soon playing and laughing with their parents. Even with just 20 minutes together we captured some gold. I love that these relaxed style photo sessions also create quality family bonding time.

The Lansdowns

Their yearly portrait with me. The boys are growing up. It's been such a privilege to document their family's growth over time. It's so special to be asked year after year too.

Hopefully 2024 will bring lots of new and returning families to capture moments like this with their nearest and dearest.
