34 years of marriage, what an achievement. You don't hear it very often nowadays.
This photoshoot was a gift for Jen & Paul, who have been married for 34 years, and were celebrating that with their family last weekend. It's so hard to get extended families together in one place at one time and it's just typical that Storm Arwen approaches the day of our shoot.
I never check the weather until the day of the shoot, however I'd seen weather warnings all over the news and was a little concerned.
I left around 09:30am whilst the sky was clear blue and the sun was shining. 5 minutes into my drive, the heavens open...typical. Holly, Jen & Paul's daughter called me up and asked if we could do the shoot inside due to the weather as her brother had taken the day off work etc. and like I say, it's tough to get everyone together, so I agreed.
When I got to their house, Holly said they were going to brave it as the rain had just slowed. We bundled the kids into the car and left straight away for Holme Wood.
Holly took us through to a clearing and we did some family portraits that Jen had requested, the light was just perfect.
The boys were SO brilliant, especially in the cold.
I made sure to get some photos of Jen & Paul too, as of course, this is in honour of their 34 years together!
We walked a bit further along to a blown down tree and the boys had a great time playing amongst the leaves and climbing the tree. We also got another family portrait too, which was my favourite and plenty of candids.
The boys wanted a running race too, and so we got some shots of that. Then afterwards I asked them to show me their celebrations and it honestly MADE my day!
I hope you enjoyed looking through these, what a feel good shoot this was!
